Just like 2013, the year 2014 has given me so many opportunities to travel. Although my plan for a foreign trip this year wasn't realize, I am grateful I was able to take several weekend countryside getaways with my friend, Rowena Tagaan.

One of my favorite weekend destinations is Tagaytay due to its cool weather, beautiful countryside scenery and relaxing environment. I love nature and Tagaytay offers the best natural delights through its beautiful vistas, landscape, plants and tropical surroundings. I was able to visit this place twice this year. Had spent an overnight stay in March and a quick day trip in July. Both sojourns had provided me enough breather from the intimidating life in the metropolis.

Tagaytay offers a cool atmosphere especially in the afternoon, its terrific mountainside and tropical landscape are enough to soothe my tired body. Nature truly refreshes my soul. In April I was able to visit some of the best destinations in Tagaytay and in July I fulfilled my long-standing wish to dine at Bag of Beans. Wonderful!

Another memorable getaway I took this year was a trip to Aquaria Beach Resort in Calatagan, Batangas. I just discovered Aquaria while searching around the web for the best weekend beach destination in Batangas. Aquaria caught my attention because of its gorgeous garden and swimming pool facilities, its wide beachfront is a bonus.

Aquaria is equipped with modern swimming pool facilities. It has a spiraled three-storey slide, a cabana and a beautiful garden. The area is wide, perfect for snapping photo memories. It has a sprawling beach area too where visitors can freely conduct games and other activities for a special gathering. The restaurant is cool, it offers scrumptious menu and its location near the beach is so relaxing.

The only downside of this resort is the transportation as there's no public utility passing through this area. Read my related blog here how to plan your visit to Aquaria.

Taking a stroll around the metropolis is not so much of a serious news and there's nothing huge about it, but my dining experiences at TWG Tea in Greenbelt last May and PAUL in SM Aura last August were so rare that I considered these as two of my most memorable food travel trips around the metro for 2014! I was with my friend, Rowena, for these food trip adventures.

At TWG Tea, Greenbelt 5 Makati

TWG Tea in Greenblet 5 is a Singaporean-based tea restaurant and the atmosphere reflects opulence and grandeur. I thought the menu is expensive but I was surprise we only spent Php500.00 for the tea set with two tea foods and this set is already good for two!

PAUL is another thing. It's a French cafe located at the ground floor of SM Aura. However, the menu consists of expensive items I was anxious which one to order until I settled for just tea and creme brulee haha! But the experience was good. I was at PAUL last August with two of my best friends, Kathy Dacanay and Rowena Tagaan.
